About Two + Lou

Where do our designs come from?

Our designs are our own. We create them from our digitised drawings and sketches and turn them into patterns. Playing with shapes and colour is easily one of the most enjoyable parts of what we do and it means our products are completely unique.

You can learn more about us here.

Where do our fabrics come from?

Our designs are printed on fabric that is Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) certified, which provides you with a guarantee of the ethical status of the product. This includes:

  1. Sustainable practices for the harvesting of raw organic cotton.
  2. Environmentally and socially responsible manufacturing of the fabric.
  3. A printing process that is conducted using non-toxic inks and water minimising technology.
  4. Staff who are fairly paid and work in conditions that meet the key norms of the International Labour Organisation (ILO), the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGPs) and the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).

Find out more about GOTS here.

Our original print t-shirts.

Our tees come from a supplier commited to responsible sourcing and involved with ethical supply chain initiatives.

Our tees are screen printed by hand here in Otautahi Christchurch using non-toxic inks.

Other fabrics.

Occasionally we source other plain dyed deadstock linen fabric to complement our range. This information is declared on the product information page, including any certifications, so that you have that information available while you browse.

Where are our products made?

Being a 'made in New Zealand' business is a central pillar of our business model. We are determined to support local manufacturing, even though it means our production costs are higher, and want to be part of helping keep this deeply skilled art form thriving in Aotearoa.
